{"id":2994,"date":"2020-03-29T18:41:17","date_gmt":"2020-03-30T01:41:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/?p=2994"},"modified":"2020-03-29T18:41:25","modified_gmt":"2020-03-30T01:41:25","slug":"march-28-2020-hobart-herd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/?p=2994","title":{"rendered":"March 28, 2020 Hobart Herd"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Hobart Herd Devotional \u2013 Proverbs 28<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>March 28, 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Like most of the Proverbs, chapter 28\nuses the method of contrasting the good and the bad in order to get the point across.&nbsp; We are great at looking at these verses and\nsaying inwardly, \u201cI am sure glad that doesn\u2019t apply to me as I am never like\nthat.\u201d&nbsp; But the Holy Spirit is faithful\nin pricking my conscience and making me look at myself honestly through the eyeglasses\nof His Word.&nbsp; This is what happened to me\ntoday as I read verses 13-14.&nbsp; Proverbs\n28:13-14, \u201cWhoever conceals his transgression will not prosper, but he who\nconfesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.&nbsp;\n14&nbsp; Blessed is the one who fears\nthe LORD always, but whoever hardens his heart will fall into calamity.(ESV)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; I like to think that I leave my heart and\nmind open to the leading of the Holy Spirt when it comes to confessing my sins\nand forsaking or repenting of them when He convicts me. &nbsp;However, if no one sees or knows it is easy to\nlet it slide until I get caught or I am in trouble.&nbsp; Then I cry out for forgiveness and mercy like\na child who has stuck a toy in an electrical outlet and get shocked.&nbsp; When the pain hits, I am quick to seek the\ncomfort of the Lord\u2019s forgiveness and mercy.&nbsp;\nVerse 14 reminds me that if I am blessed if I learn to walk in the\nreverence or fear of the Lord always keeping a clear conscience.&nbsp; If I let things slide, I can develop a\nhardened heart that will fall into calamity and miss the mercy, love and\nforgiveness of the Lord.&nbsp; <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; Father help me walk before you with an open\nheart and mind, allowing the Holy Spirit to convict, cleanse and apply Your\nmercy and grace to my life.&nbsp; May I be\nwilling to confess and forsake my sins quickly.&nbsp;\nLead me to walk in the fear and reverence of Your presence in my life\nthat I might be blessed by You and enjoy living in Your grace and love.&nbsp; Amen&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Pastor Rob &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hobart Herd Devotional \u2013 Proverbs 28 March 28, 2020 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Like most of the Proverbs, chapter 28 uses the method of contrasting the good and the bad in order to get the point across.&nbsp; We are great at looking at &hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[142],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2994"}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=2994"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2994\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":3001,"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2994\/revisions\/3001"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=2994"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=2994"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=2994"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
