{"id":3004,"date":"2020-03-30T14:41:18","date_gmt":"2020-03-30T21:41:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/?p=3004"},"modified":"2020-03-31T21:39:16","modified_gmt":"2020-04-01T04:39:16","slug":"hobart-herd-devotional-proverbs-30-3-30-20","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/?p=3004","title":{"rendered":"Hobart Herd Devotional &#8211; Proverbs 30, 3-30-20"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Hobart Herd Devotional Proverbs 30<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>March 30, 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp; This is the day that the Lord has made.&nbsp; I will rejoice and be glad in it!&nbsp; Sometimes I need to be reminded of Who is\nreally in charge of everything that goes on in this world.&nbsp; Proverbs 30:4-6:&nbsp; Who has ascended to heaven and come down? Who\nhas gathered the wind in His fists?&nbsp; Who\nhas wrapped up the waters in a garment?&nbsp;\nWho has established all the ends of the earth?&nbsp; What is His name, and what is His Son\u2019s\nname?&nbsp; Surely you know!\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; This chapter starts out with statements of\nbeing ignorant and stupid, unwise as a man.&nbsp;\nThese words are simply an attitude of humility and a cry for\nwisdom.&nbsp; With these thoughts and\nattitudes Agur then asks 5 questions in verse 4.&nbsp; These questions asked in Job 38:4-11, and all\nof us, are rhetorical questions that we can answer.&nbsp; The answer is God and His Son, the Lord Jesus\nChrist.&nbsp; Even those who claim ignorance\nof Who God is can answer these questions.&nbsp;\nSo why did Agur ask these questions?&nbsp;\nIt was to set us up!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; You see, if you know that there is a God,\nCreator and Controller of all, and His Son, Jesus Christ that gives us the very\nair that we breath, then why don\u2019t we trust Him in every difficult situation?&nbsp; In verse 5, we are reminded that every Word\nand Promise that God has given us is faithful, true, and trustworthy.&nbsp; We can take refuge in Him!&nbsp; Verse 6 then reminds us not to add to His Words\nor we will be rebuked as a liar.&nbsp; All of\nthis tells me that God has given me His Words and Promises so that I can take\nrefuge in Him.&nbsp; If I don\u2019t take refuge in\nHim it is because I have added, subtracted, ignored, changed, and not put my\ntrust in Him.&nbsp; When I do this, I reject\nHis truth and become a liar.&nbsp; 1 John\n1:7-10 reminds me that I am to walk in the light of God\u2019s word, recognizing my\nsin, confessing and repenting of it and receiving His forgiveness for all my\nsin.&nbsp; If I do this, I can then take\nrefuge in my Faithful God and His Word revealed to me by His Son, Jesus Christ!&nbsp; May I never doubt, add or change His Word and\nPromises given to provide strength and refuge.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; Father, I acknowledge Who You are and What\nyou have done for me in Your Son, Jesus Christ.&nbsp;\nThank you for Your Word that I can take trust and take refuge in\nYou.&nbsp; Forgive me of my doubt, adding or\nchanging the truth of Your promises.&nbsp; I\nlay my life in Your hands today, trusting that You are with me and in\neverything I face, You will make a way.&nbsp;\nI take refuge in You and Your Word!&nbsp;\nAmen<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pastor Rob Morris<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hobart Herd Devotional Proverbs 30 March 30, 2020 &nbsp; This is the day that the Lord has made.&nbsp; I will rejoice and be glad in it!&nbsp; Sometimes I need to be reminded of Who is really in charge of everything &hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[142],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3004"}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=3004"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3004\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":3009,"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3004\/revisions\/3009"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=3004"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=3004"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=3004"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
