Hobart Herd Devotional \u2013 Proverbs 3 \u2013\n4-3-20<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

   I hope you are reading the whole chapter and\nnot just the notes from my devotions. \nThere are to many jewels of wisdom in each chapter to cover in just a\nparagraph or two.  This chapter is maybe\nmy favorite in the whole book.  My mother\u2019s\nlife verses come from this chapter, and she gave me a special love for vs.\n5-8.  Proverbs 3:5-8, 5  \u201cTrust in the LORD with all your heart, and\ndo not lean on your own understanding.  6\nIn all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.  7  Be\nnot wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD, and turn away from evil.  8  It\nwill be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.\u201d(ESV)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

   There is an added principle to the seeking\nof wisdom from the Lord.  The principle\nis that of trusting with our whole heart. \nI find myself wanting the Lord\u2019s wisdom for all my needs but wanting His\nways to be seen and proven before trusting my whole heart to Him and His plan.  I like to lean on my own experience and\nunderstanding and sprinkle in a bit of God\u2019s Word and guidance from His Spirit.  I don\u2019t mind acknowledging Him as the One Who\nbacks my success, but I really love recognition.  I fail to remember that God does not share His\nglory but deserves all glory and honor for everything.  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

   It takes humble faith and trust to admit\nthat I am totally dependent on Him for the wisdom, strength and provision to do\nHis will.  I need to fear and reverence\nthe Lord so that His Spirit can turn my heart away from evil and bring the\nhealing and refreshment my old bones and body need.  So many times I find myself tired and weary\nof this life.  I must learn to trust Him\nwith all my heart!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

   Father, I recognize my need to completely\ntrust in You, Your ways, Your plan for my life. \nI need Your Spirit to turn my eyes from evil and look to You alone for\nmy strength and provision.  I ask\nforgiveness for the many times I have looked to my own wisdom and experience,\nseeking glory for myself instead of bringing all the glory and honor to You.  Help me to learn to always acknowledge You and\nmarvel in how You make my paths straight. \nI trust You today for all my needs of wisdom, provision and strength in\nserving You.  In Jesus Name, AMEN.    Pastor Rob<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
