Stand firm in it!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>13&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; She who is in Babylon, chosen together with\nyou, sends you greetings, and {so does} my son, mark.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>14&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Greet one another with a kiss of love.\nPeace be to you all who are in Christ.(NAS)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1. Standing Firm in Our Faith \u20131 Pet 5:9-10, 9&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; But resist him, firm in {your} faith,\nknowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your\nbrethren who are in the world. 10&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; And after you have suffered for a little\nwhile, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ,\nwill Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen {and} establish you.(NAS)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; &#8211; Standing Firm in Our Salvation \u2013 the\nblessed Hope, Sanctification, Living Stones<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 1 Peter 1:3-2:10<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; &#8211; Standing Firm in Our Submission \u2013 First to\nthe Lord and then to Authorities and <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; institutions God has placed over us! \u2013\n2:11-3:7<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; &#8211; Standing Firm in Our Suffering together \u2013\n3:8-5:10 &#8211;&nbsp; Suffering for doing right, <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Suffering in unity together, Suffering by\nhumbly casting our cares on Him and <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; resisting Satan.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp; B. Standing Firm in the Truth Together<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>EXHORTING&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 1. parakaleo ^3870^, the most frequent word\nwith this meaning, lit. denotes &#8220;to call to one&#8217;s side,&#8221; hence,\n&#8220;to call to one&#8217;s aid.&#8221; It is used for every kind of calling to a\nperson which is meant to produce a particular effect (from Vine&#8217;s)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; &#8211; Encouraging Unity in the Body together \u2013 1\nPet 2:9-10, 9&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; But you are a chosen\nrace, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for {God&#8217;s} own possession,\nthat you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness\ninto His marvelous light; 10&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; for you\nonce were not a people, but now you are the people of God; you had not received\nmercy, but now you have received mercy.(NAS)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; &#8211; Exhorting each other to love and good\ndeeds &#8211; Heb 10:23-25, 23&nbsp;&nbsp; Let us hold\nfast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>24&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; and let us consider how to stimulate one\nanother to love and good deeds,<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>25&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; not forsaking our own assembling together,\nas is the habit of some, but encouraging {one another}&nbsp; and all the more, as you see the day drawing\nnear.(NAS)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp; C. Standing Firm as Testimonies Together <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>TESTIFY &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 2. epimartureo ^1957^, &#8220;to bear witness\nto&#8221; (a strengthened form of No. 1), is rendered &#8220;testifying&#8221; in\n&lt;1 Pet. 5:12&gt;. (from Vine&#8217;s) <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; &#8211; Suffering Righteously by God\u2019s Grace \u20131\nPet 2:19-20, 19&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; For this {finds}\nfavor, if for the sake of conscience toward God a man bears up under sorrows\nwhen suffering unjustly. 20&nbsp;&nbsp; For what\ncredit is there if, when you sin and are harshly treated, you endure it with\npatience? But if when you do what is right and suffer {for it} you patiently\nendure it, this {finds} favor with God.(NAS)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; &#8211; Serving Righteously by the Manifold Grace\nof God! &#8211; 1 Pet 4:10-11, 10&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; As each one\nhas received a {special} gift, employ it in serving one another, as good\nstewards of the manifold grace of God. 11&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Whoever\nspeaks, {let him speak,} as it were, the utterances of God; whoever serves,\n{let him do so} as by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things\nGod may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion\nforever and ever. The Reality of Salvation through Faith and\nGrace<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; &#8211; Without Faith, we cannot have the grace of\nGod in our lives, without the grace of <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; God provided through the Lord Jesus\nChrist,&nbsp; we cannot have faith that can\nsave us <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; from our sin and provide that Blessed\nHope!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp; B. The Reality of Submission in Grace<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; &#8211; We cannot realize God\u2019s grace in our lives\nif we fail to submit to His authority and <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; the authorities He places over us for our\nwell being!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp; C.
