Hobart Herd Devotional Proverbs 5-6 \u2013\n4-6-20<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

   As many of you have noticed, I generally don\u2019t\ndo a Devotional for Sundays because I am busy preaching and getting the video\nmessage out to everyone.  It does not\nmean I don\u2019t have devotions on Sunday, but just don\u2019t have time to get it sent\nout to everyone.  So today we should read\nProverbs 5-6, and try to find some verses that have special meaning to us. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

   Proverbs Chapter 5 and the end of Chapter 6\ndevote a lot of time to the wisdom passed on about being careful to not falling\nfor a harlot.  If we apply this to our\nlives today, we say \u201cwatch out for the temptation or sexual intimacy outside\nthe bounds of marriage.\u201d  There are many\nwords of the ruin that happens when we ignore God\u2019s warnings; and the blessings\nthat come from \u201crejoicing in the wife of your youth\u201d (5:18). <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

   In today\u2019s world we have a tremendous\nproblem with addiction to pornography and the sex industry.  I think it is appropriate to remind us that\nin our time of quarantine we must be careful with what we allow into our lives\nand minds.  It is so easy to click on\nsomething that we should never look at and allow our minds to take in.  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

   The verses that struck me as very important\nin keeping my heart, mind, and body in line with what the Lord would want of me\nare found in 6:6-8.  \u201cGo to the ant, O\nsluggard; consider her ways, and be wise.   7  Without having any chief, officer, or ruler,  8  she prepares\nher bread in summer and gathers her food in harvest.\u201d  Most of our problems with immoral thinking\nand action is because we fail to be about what the Lord would have us think and\ndo.  During this time when we may have\nspare time, be sure that you keep up your walk with the Lord in His word, and\nthe actions of serving others.  Find the\nthings the Lord would have you do for others and stay busy.  Don\u2019t let idle hands and minds be a tool that\nSatan can use to lead us into a life of sin. \n<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

   Father, I thank you that Your word gives me\nthe direction and guidance to do Your will. \nI know my tendency is to procrastinate and become complacent in my walk\nwith You and the service You call me to. \nForgive me for being idle and losing my love of You and Your call to\nshare the Gospel in season and out of season. \nMay I use the time You give me during this lockdown to follow Your\nSpirit\u2019s guidance in spending time in Your Word and serving others with love as\nYou have called me to.  In Jesus Name,\nAmen!  Pastor Rob  <\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
