{"id":3175,"date":"2020-04-24T13:38:54","date_gmt":"2020-04-24T20:38:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/?p=3175"},"modified":"2020-04-24T13:39:01","modified_gmt":"2020-04-24T20:39:01","slug":"hobart-herd-devotional-proverbs-2312-244-4-24-20","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/?p=3175","title":{"rendered":"Hobart Herd Devotional &#8211; Proverbs 23:12-24:4 &#8211; 4-24-20"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Hobart Herd \u2013 Proverbs 23:12-24:4 \u2013\n4-24-20<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; Today we will look at the wise sayings 11-20\nfound in Proverbs 23:12-24:4.&nbsp; These\nsecond 10 wise sayings brought me back to my youth.&nbsp; I remember in High School envying those who\nwere rebels and did what they wanted.&nbsp; I\nlived in the controlled environment of a pastor\u2019s home and basically my life\nrevolved around the church.&nbsp; It seemed\nthat those who showed up to school drunk, or high on drugs were the ones that\nwere having all the fun.&nbsp; I struggled to\nattune my ears to the wise words of knowledge and wisdom that surrounded me in\nmy family and church family.&nbsp; I remember\nbeing told as a little child that cigarettes were yucky.&nbsp; So when I was outside one day I found a\ncigarette but on the ground and ate it.&nbsp;\nI never ever wanted to touch a cigarette again.&nbsp; I learned that my parent\u2019s knowledge was\npretty good!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; The second part of the learning process for\nme was to realize that there was a hope and future in the Lord\u2019s plans for my\nlife that far outweighed the temporary \u201cfun\u201d of the world.&nbsp; My fear and reverence for God and my love for\nmy family and church kept me from so many pitfalls in life.&nbsp; Truly God\u2019s plan for my life has been a rich blessing\nof love of God, love from friends and family, and the honor of serving in\nministry that has eternal purpose.&nbsp; There\nhave been times when I thought, surely having money, a beautiful house, fine\ncars, etc, would be the best thing to have in this world.&nbsp; However, I have learned that the joy of\nknowing the Hope and future that God has provided me through trusting and\nserving the Lord is the only thing on this earth that brings satisfaction.&nbsp; On top of all of that, God has given me the\nbest family, congregation, and community I could ever hope for.&nbsp; Truly 23:17-18 are true: <sup>17<\/sup> Don\u2019t\nenvy sinners, but always continue to fear the Lord. <sup>18<\/sup> For surely\nyou have a future ahead of you; your hope will not be disappointed.(NLT)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; God\u2019s word for me today is found in 23:26; <sup>26<\/sup>\nO my son, give me your heart.
