{"id":3240,"date":"2020-05-05T16:14:22","date_gmt":"2020-05-05T23:14:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/?p=3240"},"modified":"2020-05-05T16:14:34","modified_gmt":"2020-05-05T23:14:34","slug":"hobart-herd-devotional-psalms-8-5-5-20","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/?p=3240","title":{"rendered":"Hobart Herd Devotional &#8211; Psalms 8 &#8211; 5-5-20"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Hobart Herd Devotional \u2013 Psalms 8 \u2013\n5-5-20<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; One of my favorite worship choruses that we\nuse to open our worship service is, O Lord Our Lord How Majestic is Your Name\nin All the Earth!&nbsp; That song comes from\nPsalms 8 verses 1 &amp; 9.&nbsp; While the\nlast 2 Psalms are cries of pain and prayer, this Psalm is a total Psalm of\nrejoicing and worship!&nbsp; Sometimes when I\nget down about how things are going, all it takes is a fresh glimpse of my God\nand these songs spring into my mind.&nbsp; I\nneed to not let the things around me take my eyes off my Marvelous, Majestic\nLord.&nbsp; <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; Have you ever used the saying, \u201cout of the\nmouth of babes\u201d?&nbsp; In verse 2 we are\nreminded that God uses the words of the smallest children to express His power,\nstrength and glory to us.&nbsp; My wife was\nFace timing my 2 yrs. Old grandson and asked him, what was the little stick\nfigure in his hand?&nbsp; He answered back\n\u201cJees\u201d, his word for Jesus as if \u201cMa\u201d should be able to recognize Him.&nbsp; Nothing greater then having my Grandchildren\nrequest that we \u201cSing God\u201d, our song of prayer that we sing together at every\nmeal with them.&nbsp; They ask us to sing\n\u201cJees\u201d, Jesus Loves Me, and then go and play their version on the piano to sing\nwith them.&nbsp; Oh the joy to know that they\nalready think and sing of Him no matter how much they understand.&nbsp; One of my favorite memories of having Levi\nover night on a Saturday night and then in the church service on Sunday, was\nwatching him stand on the pew an sing at the top of his lungs with us in worship.&nbsp; Even though he couldn\u2019t know or sing the\nwords, he was making a joyful noise of praise to the Lord.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; Enough about my Grand Kids; I have to praise\nand worship the Lord for the beauty of His creation that surrounds me with His\nGlory!&nbsp; Watching the vibrant colors of\nspring, seeing Mt. Rainier, watching the elk herd in the fields surrounding the\nchurch, watching a calf being born in those same fields, seeing the magnificent\nsunsets over the sky line to the west, I could go on but you understand.&nbsp; Today I just want to worship God for Who He\nis, and marvel at the fact that in all His majestic Glory and handiwork, He\nstoops to love and save me.&nbsp; Truly, \u201cWhat\nis man, that Thou dost take thought of him? And the son of man, that Thou dost\ncare for him?, Psalms 8:4.&nbsp; May I never\nlose sight of Who He is and What He has done for me!&nbsp; <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; Father, I ask forgiveness for losing sight\nof Your majesty.&nbsp; I get so caught up in\nthe struggles of this life that I fail to see the beauty of Your creation and\nmarvel at the fact that you love me and gave this all for me to see and worship\nYou.&nbsp; Thank you for the glimpse of You\nthat we receive from the mouth and eyes of our children and grandchildren.
