{"id":3249,"date":"2020-05-07T17:16:10","date_gmt":"2020-05-08T00:16:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/?p=3249"},"modified":"2020-05-07T17:16:23","modified_gmt":"2020-05-08T00:16:23","slug":"hobart-herd-devotional-psalms-10-5-7-20","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/?p=3249","title":{"rendered":"Hobart Herd Devotional &#8211; Psalms 10 &#8211; 5-7-20"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Hobart Herd Devotional \u2013 Psalm 10 \u2013 5-7-20<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; If you have been the afflicted and abused by\nthe evil of this world; if you have felt as if those who are hurting you are\ngetting away with it and no one cares; if you feel as if God has forgotten you\nand no longer hears your cries and prayers.&nbsp;\nThis Psalm is for you.&nbsp; Psalms\n10:1&nbsp;&nbsp; Why dost Thou stand afar off, O\nLORD? Why dost Thou hide {thyself} in times of trouble?(NAS)&nbsp; I have been there, and we may feel like we\nare there right now.&nbsp; <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; From verses 2-13 we are told of the ways of\nthe wicked, their mocking of God and their saying, \u201cthere is no God\u201d.&nbsp; They take advantage of the hurting,\nafflicted, poor and needy, orphans, widows, all those who are down and out.&nbsp; Psalms 10:11&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; He\nsays to himself, &#8220;God has forgotten; He has hidden His face; He will never\nsee it.&#8221;(NAS)&nbsp; The wicked thinks\nthat God is never going to catch them or punish them.&nbsp; <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; However, we know that God sees all of\nit.&nbsp; He never slumbers or sleeps.&nbsp; He hears the cries and prayers of the oppressed\nand downtrodden.&nbsp; I so look forward to\nthe day when the Lord sets things right.&nbsp;\nI pray that the Lord would return and change this wicked world until\nthere is no more sin, hate, war, sorrow or pain.&nbsp; The cry of verse 15 is that God would \u201cbreak\nthe arm of the wicked\u201d and get rid of all wickedness.&nbsp; <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; Then comes these precious words of faith and\nhope:&nbsp; Psalms 10:17-18, 17&nbsp; O LORD, Thou hast heard the desire of the\nhumble; Thou wilt strengthen their heart, Thou wilt incline Thine ear 18&nbsp; To vindicate the orphan and the oppressed,\nthat man who is of the earth may cause terror no more.(NAS)&nbsp; Never forget that the Lord hears the prayers\nof the humble and He will strengthen your heart as you wait for His\nvindication.&nbsp; There is a worship chorus\nthat I would like you to sing in your heart right now:&nbsp; \u201cIn His time, in His time, He makes all\nthings beautiful in His time.&nbsp; Lord\nplease show me every day as You\u2019re teaching me Your way, that You do just what\nYou say in Your time.\u201d&nbsp; May I never lose\nfaith and hope that the Lord will hear and strengthen us in our time of deepest\npain.&nbsp; May I always trust that His way\nand time are best!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; Father, thank You for Your mercy that\nwithholds judgment so that Your grace and love can shine through and bring\nredemption to my sinful heart.&nbsp; Many\ntimes I think I know best and wonder why You don\u2019t make things right according\nto my way and timing.&nbsp; But I need to\nremind myself that You have eternal plans.&nbsp;\nYou are not slow concerning Your promises, but You are not wanting\nanyone to perish and Your will is that all would repent and turn to You.
