{"id":3293,"date":"2020-05-18T17:45:25","date_gmt":"2020-05-19T00:45:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/?p=3293"},"modified":"2020-05-18T17:45:43","modified_gmt":"2020-05-19T00:45:43","slug":"hobart-herd-devotional-psalms-19-20-5-18-20","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/?p=3293","title":{"rendered":"Hobart Herd Devotional &#8211; Psalms 19 &#038; 20 &#8211; 5-18-20"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>&nbsp;Hobart Herd Devotional &#8211; Psalm 19 \u2013 5-17-20<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; I love this Psalm and the reminder of all the\nways God speaks to us and gives us pictures and word that help us know Who He\nis and how He loves to communicate and bless us.&nbsp; The first 6 verses are praising God for all\nthe ways that His creation and handiwork reveal His awesome power, strength and\nglory.&nbsp; The word pictures of the heavens,\nthe sun, moon and stars speak day and night to us about our omnipotent God and\nHis love and care for us.&nbsp; All that God\nhas made speaks louder than any words and leaves us with no excuse for knowing,\nloving and serving Him.&nbsp; <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp; <strong>The theme of the next 5 verses (vs.\n7-11) bring us the truths and blessing of God\u2019s Law, or Word that He has spoken\nand given to us.&nbsp; These verses also represent\na worship song that we often sing called \u201cThe Law of the Lord\u201d.&nbsp; Verses 7-9 are the verses of the song, verse\n10 is the chorus we sing between each verse and verse 11 is the ending chorus.&nbsp; These verses tell us of glory of God\u2019s Word;\nperfect, sure, right, pure, clean, true, righteous, and precious, are the\ndescriptions of God\u2019s holy word.&nbsp; We\ntruly are richly blessed by being able to read, hear, memorize, and hold dear\nGod\u2019s Word, His love letter to us!&nbsp; There\nare also many blessings and rewards from hearing and obeying God\u2019s Word; reviving\nthe soul; making wise the simple; rejoicing the heart, enlightening the eyes; enduring\nforever; righteous altogether. Psalms 19:7-9.&nbsp;\nWhat do you need today?&nbsp; God\u2019s Word\ncan bring all of this into your life and bless you.&nbsp; <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; With all these truths and blessings being\nours, I should make sure that I am looking, seeking, and doing God\u2019s will and\nplan for my life.&nbsp; <sup>14<\/sup> Let the\nwords of my mouth and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in your sight, O\nLORD, my rock and my redeemer. Psalms 19:14&nbsp;\n&nbsp;This should be my prayer and my\nheart before my Great God and His Holy Word.&nbsp;\n<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; Father, truly I am blessed beyond\ncomprehension by Your creation and Your mighty Word.&nbsp; I cry out to know You and Your way, and yet\nfail to look around me and spend time in Your word.&nbsp; Forgive me for getting so caught up in my\nlife that I fail to take time to meditate, memorize and bask in Your Creation\nand Your Word.&nbsp; Thank You for loving me\nthrough it all.&nbsp; In Jesus Name, Amen!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hobart Herd Devotional Psalms 20 \u2013 5-18-20<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; Many times, David saw the hand of God bringing\nvictory and salvation to His people and nation.&nbsp;\nThe victories over the Goliath and the Philistines as well as many of\nthe surrounding nations were all an answer to the prayers of His people and\nKing.&nbsp; Over, and over again and against\nall odds, God had shown Himself strong on behalf of His children.&nbsp; This is a song of glory and praise to God, a\nsong of blessing and remembrance telling of God\u2019s rescue and blessing as well as\nsinging His blessing to each other. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; The first 5 verses are filled with \u201cmay\u201d.&nbsp; These are not just requests, but statements\nof faith in God meeting their every need and saving them in impossible\nsituations.&nbsp; We should be doing this to\neach other.&nbsp; We should say, sing, and\npray God\u2019s blessings on each other, not just as prayer requests, but as\nstatements of faith in Who God is and What He has done, and will do for each of\nus! &nbsp;As you meet and greet each other,\neven from a distance or on the phone or internet, make sure you encourage and\nlift each other up in your faith in God\u2019s power, protection, love and\nsalvation. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp; &nbsp;<sup>6<\/sup>\nNow I know that the LORD saves his anointed; he will answer him from his holy\nheaven&nbsp;with the saving might of his right hand. <sup>7<\/sup> Some trust in\nchariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. <sup>8<\/sup>\nThey collapse and fall, but we rise and stand upright.
