{"id":3316,"date":"2020-05-23T22:08:28","date_gmt":"2020-05-24T05:08:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/?p=3316"},"modified":"2020-05-23T22:08:44","modified_gmt":"2020-05-24T05:08:44","slug":"hobart-herd-devotional-psalms-24-5-23-20","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/?p=3316","title":{"rendered":"Hobart Herd Devotional &#8211; Psalms 24 &#8211; 5-23-20"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Hobart Herd Devotional \u2013 Psalms 24 \u2013\n5-23-20<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; Oh, the contrast from the Lord as our\nShepherd (Psalms 23) to the King of glory (Psalms 24).&nbsp; We celebrate the Lord as our Shepherd and\nProvider, but the hope of celebrating the King of Glory, the Lord of the\nUniverse, as His family in His Kingdom is exhilarating.&nbsp; To remember Who all this belongs to, and Who\ncreated it and makes it all hold together should make us fall on our knees in\nworship!&nbsp; <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; It is from this position of wonder, worship\nand awe from our knees that we are asked the question, Who can ascend the hill\nof the Lord? (vs. 3) &nbsp;The answer is that\nwe need to be holy, righteous, truthful, pure of hand and heart, and this creates\na huge problem.&nbsp; We are none of these!&nbsp; Praise the Lord for verse 5-6, He will\nreceive blessing from the LORD and righteousness from the God of his salvation.\n6 Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek the face of the God of\nJacob. Selah Psalms 24:5-6 (ESV)&nbsp; We need\nto understand that David realized except for the blessing, mercy, grace and\nrighteousness provided in our Savior Jesus Christ, we would have no hope of\never ascending the hill of His presence.&nbsp;\n<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; In verses 7-10 we have a worship song that\nlooks forward to the Lord entering the gates of Jerusalem victoriously coming\nto rule and reign over His Kingdom and People!&nbsp;\n\u201cOn that day his feet shall stand on the Mount of Olives that lies\nbefore Jerusalem on the east, and the Mount of Olives shall be split in two\nfrom east to west by a very wide valley, so that one half of the Mount shall\nmove northward, and the other half southward.\u201d Zechariah 14:4 &nbsp;This prophetic promise is what God\u2019s people\nare waiting for.&nbsp; There is partial\nfulfillment in the Triumphal Entry of the Lord on the way to the cross; but it\nwill be finally and fully finished when He enters the city after defeating\nSatan and the nations to rule and reign in His Kingdom.&nbsp; <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; When I was on my Sabbatical trip to Israel\nin March of 2019, we entered the last day from the Mount of Olives and hiked\ndown through the Garden of Gethsemane looking down on the city of David and the\ntemple hill.&nbsp; As we were walking down we\ncame to a graveyard with the graves all lined up looking over the city.&nbsp; Dr. Mike told us that the grave plots cost\nover $1,000,000, and were impossible to purchase because all the Orthodox\nJewish leaders wanted to be buried there to prepare for the fulfillment of the\nLord\u2019s return so that they could stand and enter the city with the Lord in triumph.&nbsp; Oh that we might, by faith, worship the King of\nGlory while we are alive so that we can enter in triumph with Him.&nbsp; <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; Father, forgive me for forgetting that my\nSavior is the KING OF GLORY!&nbsp; I take for\ngranted that You hear my prayers and like a spoiled child expect the Shepherd\nto always provide my every want and bail me out with forgiveness when I\nfail.&nbsp; Help me to worship You for Who You\nare, and not forget that everything I have, am and will ever be is provided by\nmy God and Savior Jesus Christ and His salvation.&nbsp; I want to ascend to Your hill with righteous\nworship, praise, honor and glory.&nbsp; Thank\nYou, in Jesus name, Amen!&nbsp; Pastor Rob <\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hobart Herd Devotional \u2013 Psalms 24 \u2013 5-23-20 &nbsp;&nbsp; Oh, the contrast from the Lord as our Shepherd (Psalms 23) to the King of glory (Psalms 24).&nbsp; We celebrate the Lord as our Shepherd and Provider, but the hope of &hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[142],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3316"}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=3316"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3316\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":3317,"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3316\/revisions\/3317"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=3316"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=3316"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=3316"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
