Hobart Herd Devotional \u2013 Psalms 25 \u2013\n5-25-20<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

   \u201cUnto Thee, O Lord, do I lift up me soul.\u201d  I have sung this chorus for years without\nreally thinking about what it really means. \nVerses 1-3 & 7 make up the verses with the chorus being, \u201cO my God,\nI trust in Thee, let me not be ashamed let not mine enemies triumph over me.\u201d(KJV)  This chapter is really about lifting my heart\nand soul up to the Lord so that I can make sure that I am forgiven and right\nwith Him in such a way that I know He is on my side and will not let my enemies\ndefeat me.  I need to step back and\nrealize my need to be right with the Lord and to really trust that He has\nforgiven me and is always on my side.  Truly\nI do not want to be afraid or ashamed because of my actions and thoughts, and\nthe way to make sure I stay on the right path is to allow the Lord to teach me\nHis ways and His truth.(vs. 4)  I want\nthe Lord to remember me in His goodness and mercy, not the past sins of my\nyouth that I have hopefully left behind.(vs. 7)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

   Only then can I really begin to worship God\nfor Who He is and what He has done.  He\nis able to lead me instruct me in righteous humbleness and keep me from\nreturning to the paths of sin.  Praise\nGod for His steadfast love and faithfulness to lead me in His way and His word.  The only problem I have is that the closer I\nget in my relationship with the Lord and His Word, the more I know that I\ncontinually need His forgiveness and mercy. \nI trust in God to forgive me and lead me in such a way that He can pluck\nme from the net of my temptations before I fall again into sinful patterns.(vs.\n11-15)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

   In the end I must be in right relationship\nof trust, in order to take refuge in Him and be preserved by His righteousness\nand integrity that can live in me.  Then\nI can truly call on Him to use me to pray and lead others in His ways.   Psalms 25:21-22,  21 <\/sup>      May integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for you. 22 <\/sup>         Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his\ntroubles.(ESV)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

   Father, remind me of my need to life up my\nheart and soul to You for Your inspection. \nI never want to be ashamed of my life as it reflects on You and my\nFamily in Christ.  Most of all I don\u2019t\nwant You to be ashamed of me.  My I\nconfess my sin daily and trust in Your forgiveness and mercy.  Thank You for guiding my heart by Your Word\ninto paths of truth and right ways of action. \nUse me to be an example and lead Your people into right relationship\nwith You.  In Jesus Name, Amen.  Pastor Rob<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
