{"id":3327,"date":"2020-05-26T13:30:45","date_gmt":"2020-05-26T20:30:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/?p=3327"},"modified":"2020-05-26T13:30:52","modified_gmt":"2020-05-26T20:30:52","slug":"hobart-herd-devotional-psalms-26-5-26-20","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/?p=3327","title":{"rendered":"Hobart Herd Devotional \u2013 Psalms 26 \u2013 5-26-20"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Hobart Herd Devotional \u2013 Psalms 26 \u2013\n5-26-20<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; This Psalm is different in that David\nworships God from the position of righteousness and integrity.&nbsp; He doesn\u2019t spend much time asking for\nforgiveness, but asks the Lord to vindicate his life by testing and proving\nthat he has walked in faithfulness to the Lord.&nbsp;\nIt reminds me of the Hymn, Trust and Obey.&nbsp; \u201cWhen we walk with the Lord, in the light of\nHis word; what a glory He sheds on our way.&nbsp;\nWhen we do His good will, He abides with us still, and with all who will\ntrust and obey.&nbsp; Trust and Obey, for\nthere\u2019s no other way; to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; David\u2019s testimony was also that he avoided\nsitting and being around, false hypocrites and wicked living people.&nbsp; A reminder that, in order to walk in God\u2019s\nfaithfulness and strength, we need to make sure we don\u2019t fellowship and walk\nwith those who don\u2019t walk with the Lord.&nbsp;\nThis reminds me of the story of Lot, who was so drawn to having the\ntreasures and pleasures of this world, that God had to send angels to remove\nhim from the wickedness of Sodom and Gomorrah.&nbsp;\nAs God destroyed these cities for the extremely wicked behavior, Lots\nwife looked back and became a pillar of salt.&nbsp;\nWe need to be careful of who and where we hang out if we expect to walk\nin righteousness and integrity. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp; &nbsp;Psalms\n26:11-12,<sup>11&nbsp;<\/sup>&nbsp;&nbsp; But as for\nme, I shall walk in my integrity; redeem me, and be gracious to me. &nbsp;<sup>12&nbsp;<\/sup>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; My foot stands on level ground; in the great assembly I will\nbless the Lord.(ESV)&nbsp; David did not just\nstand in his own strength an testimony, but gave credit to the Lord for His\nredemption and grace in allowing him to stand in the strength of integrity\nprovided by God\u2019s power.&nbsp; Make sure God\nreceives the glory for your integrity and faithfulness as pride comes before\nthe fall.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; Father, thank You for redeeming me from my\nsin and placing Your Spirit within me so that I can walk in the blessings of\nintegrity and righteousness.&nbsp; Help me to\nbe faithful to You so that You receive all the glory.&nbsp; Keep me from the fellowship of wickedness and\nguard my heart from those what would lead me astray.&nbsp; In Jesus name, Amen.&nbsp; Pastor Rob<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hobart Herd Devotional \u2013 Psalms 26 \u2013 5-26-20 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; This Psalm is different in that David worships God from the position of righteousness and integrity.&nbsp; He doesn\u2019t spend much time asking for forgiveness, but asks the Lord to vindicate his &hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[142],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3327"}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=3327"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3327\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":3328,"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3327\/revisions\/3328"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=3327"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=3327"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=3327"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
