Psalms 28 &#8211; 5-28-20"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Hobart Herd Devotional \u2013 Psalms 28 \u2013\n5-28-20<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; The Lord is my Rock, my Strength, my Shield,\nmy Saving Defense, my Shepherd.&nbsp; These\nare all the titles for the Lord given in this chapter.&nbsp; David\u2019s fear was that the Lord would be\nsilent to him and he would lose his faith and trust in such a way that he would\nbecome just like the condemned enemies of God.&nbsp;\nAs David prays to the Lord, He asks that God would distinguish him from\nthose who were His enemies who were doomed for destruction.&nbsp; David had witnessed the judgment of the Lord\non his enemies and wanted nothing to do with God\u2019s wrath and judgment.&nbsp; David was aware that it was the works of the\nenemies\u2019 hand that brought down God\u2019s judgment on them.&nbsp; <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; David was so thankful to the Lord for\nhearing his supplication.&nbsp; The fact that\nGod would stoop to hear and answer his earnest prayers brought a deep since of\nrelief, comfort and joy.&nbsp; David was able\nto return to his confident faith in the Lord.&nbsp;\nPsalms 28:7-8, 7&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The LORD is my\nstrength and my shield; My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped; therefore my\nheart exults, and with my song I shall thank Him. 8&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The LORD is their strength, and He is a saving defense to His\nanointed.(NAS)&nbsp; It is so great to see the\nLord lift us up as we pray and seek Him earnestly.&nbsp; <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp; &nbsp;Maybe\nthis is a day that I don\u2019t feel like the Lord is hearing my prayer and I am\ntempted to give up and go the way of the world.&nbsp;\nTruly, God has distinguished us and made us His children placing His\nHoly Spirit within us sealing us as His own.(1Peter 2:9-10)&nbsp; Today I can put my trust in the Lord my Rock,\nStrength, Shield, Defender, Shepherd, Who is able to handle anything that comes\nmy way today.&nbsp; May we truly give thanks\nand praise to the Lord for being all this and more to us.&nbsp; I am humbled that He chooses to hear my\nprayers and speak to me through His Word by His Spirit.&nbsp; May I never lose sight of Who the Lord is for\nme!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; Father, You have given me Your Son as my\nRock.&nbsp; When I build my life on Him I have\nyour power, provision, protection and purpose in my life.&nbsp; I know that I sometimes think that You have\nforsaken me and begin to lose the hope and joy of my faith.&nbsp;
