{"id":3419,"date":"2020-06-09T17:35:08","date_gmt":"2020-06-10T00:35:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/?p=3419"},"modified":"2020-06-09T17:35:24","modified_gmt":"2020-06-10T00:35:24","slug":"hobart-herd-devotional-psalms-36-6-6-20","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/hobart-community-church.org\/?p=3419","title":{"rendered":"Hobart Herd Devotional &#8211; Psalms 36 &#8211; 6-6-20"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Hobart Herd Devotional \u2013 Psalms 36 \u2013\n6-6-20<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; What is the difference between sin and\ntransgression?&nbsp; Many of us sin by\nignorance of the law, or unthinkingly acting or saying something that is\nhurtful or harmful.&nbsp; But transgression in\nHebrew signifies willful deviation from, and therefore rebellion against, the\npath of godly living.(from Vine&#8217;s Expository Dictionary of Biblical Words)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>David starts off this\noracle by using the word \u201cpesha\u2019\u201d, revolt, rebellion or transgression to\ndescribe the heart of the wicked.&nbsp; Verses\n1-4 tell us of what the wicked heart looks and acts like.&nbsp; Here is the list, it starts with no fear of\nGod, conceited self flattery concerning their wickedness, crooked or deceitful\nspeech, lacking the wisdom to do good, dreams plans of evil, and walks the path\nunwilling to turn from evil.&nbsp; <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; Like most of the Psalms, there is the\ncontrast of the goodness of the Lord towards the upright in heart in verses\n5-10.&nbsp; It starts where we all need to\nstart with the vast loving-kindness of the Lord.&nbsp; Psalms 36:5-6, 5 &nbsp; Thy lovingkindness, O LORD,\nextends to the heavens, Thy faithfulness {reaches} to the skies.&nbsp; 6&nbsp; Thy\nrighteousness is like the mountains of God; Thy judgments are {like} a great\ndeep.
