Hobart Herd Devotional \u2013 Psalms 45 \u2013\n6-15-20<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

   Normally this time of year is full of\npreparations and wedding celebrations. \nThis is a hard time as many have had to postpone their wedding plans and\ncelebrations.  It is good to know that in\nthis Psalm we find a wedding song for the king as he prepares for and looks\nforward to seeing his bride.  This Psalm\nis also a type of Christ and the expectation of the Marriage supper of the Lamb\nas the King of Kings receives His Bride, the Church, and the celebration of the\nages takes place. Revelation 19:6-9, 6 <\/sup>Then I heard what seemed\nto be the voice of a great multitude, like the roar of many waters and like the\nsound of mighty peals of thunder, crying out, \u201cHallelujah! For the Lord our God\nthe Almighty reigns. 7 <\/sup> Let us rejoice and exult and give him\nthe glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made\nherself ready; 8 <\/sup> it was granted her to clothe herself with\nfine linen, bright and pure\u201d\u2014 for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the\nsaints. 9  <\/sup>And the angel said to me, \u201cWrite this: Blessed are\nthose who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.\u201d And he said to me,\n\u201cThese are the true words of God.\u201d(ESV) \nThese words were written by John as He was led to describe our marriage\nas the Bride to the Great King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

   The first 9 verses describe the splendor and\nmajesty of the King.  Here are some\nphrases that reveal that this is more than just a wedding for a king, but truly\na description of our King, the Lord Jesus Christ!  \u201cGrace poured upon His lips\u201d; riding victoriously\nfor \u201cthe cause of truth and meekness and righteousness\u201d; \u201cYour throne is\nforever and ever\u201d; \u201cGod has anointed You with the oil of gladness beyond Your\ncompanions\u201d; all of these describe the greatness of the Lord.  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

   Verses 10-15 describe the pageantry of the\nqueen, the bride as she prepares to make her entrance to the celebration.  She enters with all her beauty to honor her\nGroom with her wedding party.  What a\npicture of the beauty and splendor of this wedding and all the honor and glory\nthat will be bestowed on our Lord as we bow to Him and bring Him all glory and\nhonor as His pure and holy bride.  This\nis followed with a benediction of blessing upon the marriage and the sons and\nprinces that will come from this union. \nWe will rule and reign with Him for all eternity and all the nations of\nthe world will honor and glorify the Lord forever! <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

   As I meditate on this great picture of glory\nand majesty, I am thrilled to think that I will get to be a part of the celebration\nof the marriage of the Lamb and His bride. \nThere is nothing more joyful than a celebration of love and union with\nthe Lord.  I hope that you have this hope\nand assurance that one day we will join in celebration and union together with\nour Lord and Savior.  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

   Father, thank You for this beautiful\ndepiction of the wedding of a king that gives us the hope and assurance of the\nfuture celebration and glory of Heaven together.  I need to be reminded of the glory that we\nwill share together in a time when everything looks so bad.  May I never lose sight of being with You and all\nYour glory.  In Jesus Name, Amen!  Pastor Rob<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
