Hobart Herd Devotional – Psalms 59<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

   Have you ever felt attacked on every side\nwith your only hope being the miraculous deliverance of the Lord.  David often felt this way and this Psalm\ngives us the pattern for overcoming victory. \nThe first is our prayer for deliverance. \nPsalms  59:1   Deliver me from my enemies, O God; protect\nme from those who rise up against me.(NIV) \nIn verses 2-7 David tells God all the ways that his enemies are\nattacking him relentlessly.  He tells God\nof his innocence and integrity before the Lord as he recognizes the difference\nbetween punishment for sin and being caught in the evil actions of the\nenemy.  May we be able to call out to God\nfrom a place of integrity and innocence!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

   We need this heart of faith and trust that\nGod can and will fight for us.  Nothing\nthat this world can do can stop our Faithful and Powerful God!  Psalms 59:9-10, 9  O my Strength, I watch for you; you, O God,\nare my fortress, 10   my loving God. God\nwill go before me and will let me gloat over those who slander me.(NIV)  We must learn to understand that God laughs\nat the strength of the enemy.  We can\nwatch for God our Strength and Fortress to come to our defense.  My loving God goes before me and will enable\nme to see Him make a fool of our enemies. \nI often think of Satan killing Jesus on the cross and gloating in his\nvictory only to find out that in the crucifixion, death, and resurrection of my\nLord the ultimate sacrifice for sin and victory over death was completed!  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

   My hope is that every day I will sing of His\nstrength, love, protection and refuge in times of trouble.(vs. 16)  Truly He is our fortress and loving God!(vs.\n17)  Find a hymnal and read and sing \u201cA\nMighty Fortress is Our God\u201d.  Worship Him\nfor Who He is and what He has done for You today!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

   Father, I get caught up in the power of my\nenemies, and fail to really celebrate, worship, and rejoice in my loving God;\nmy Fortress and Strength in times of trouble. \nI quickly see all the ways my enemies attack me and try to destroy me\nand miss the way that You show Yourself strong on my behalf.  Forgive me for my lack of trust and worship,\nand help me to take refuge and watch as You fight for me.  In Jesus Name, Amen!  Pastor Rob<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
