Hobart Herd Devotional \u2013 Psalms 64<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

   Do you ever get tired of people\ncomplaining?  Do you get tired of the\nwhine in the voice of your children when they don\u2019t get what they want?  Can you imagine being God as He listens to\nour complaining and whining?  As I read\nverse one, I see the complaint of David change from a whine to a prayer to God\nagainst the threats, plots, and scheming of his enemies; it changes to a\nrequest that he not be overwhelmed by his enemies conspiracies.  God listens to our complaints but longs to\nhear our whines turn to requests of trust and faith in His power to handle our\nconcerns.  One of my favorite worship choruses\nis \u201cHe Is Able\u201d.  \u201cHe is able more than\nable, to accomplish what concerns me today. \nHe is able, more than able, to handle anything that comes my way.  He is able, more than able, to do much more\nthan I could ever dream.  He is able,\nmore than able, to make me what He wants me to be.\u201d  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

   We get so caught up in what the enemy is\ndoing to us that we never change the whine to a win by trusting in God\u2019s\nability to handle the people, problem and situation.  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The enemy wants you to\nbelieve verse 6:<\/strong> \u201cThey plot injustice and say, “We\nhave devised a perfect plan!” Surely the mind and heart of man are\ncunning.\u201d(NIV)  We soon continue to whine\nand complain that there is nothing to be done, we are doomed to defeat.  But God promises to turn their tongues\nagainst them and ruin them and causing them to be scorned.(vs. 8)  Psalms 64:9         All\nmankind will fear; they will proclaim the works of God and ponder what he has\ndone.(NIV)  This is the victory that the\nLord will bring in answering our requests. \nThen we can respond with rejoicing and take refuge in Him with an\nrighteous heart of worship and praise.(vs. 10)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

   Father, thank You for not giving up on me\nand my whining ways.  Your faithfulness\nto hear and bring my heart to a trusting request for Your help and protection\nis much more than I deserve.  I should\nknow Your power to turn the plots of the enemy back against them, and the words\nthey use to scorning and shame.  Help me\nto turn from terrible whining to trusting winning as I make my requests to\nYou.  In Jesus Name, Amen!  Pastor Rob<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
