SEPTEMBER 2024 UPDATE…….
We leave today on a two-month ministry trip that will cover about 7000 land miles traveling and speaking from one coast to the other before Jeanette flies to Littworld 2024 in Puebla, Mexico, November 2-9. We will be traveling and living in our 1998 19-foot class B camper van.
Please pray with us that our elderly vehicle will continue chugging along safely throughout the trip. Also for health, clarity of mind, and God’s anointing as we speak at two mission conferences, churches, and various small groups as well as spending some time at the BCM headquarters in PA.
A special blessing is that we will be able to swing through and visit all of our adult children and families in PA, SD, MD, and WA. Earlier this month, our youngest son Steve was able to fly out to Seattle, pick up Michael from his long-term medical facility, and bring him out to our home base for a few days. Please continue in prayer for Michael as his medical team is weighing the best long-term options for his ongoing care.
Another unexpected project this month for Jeanette was translating into Spanish the first volume of BCM’s new edition of Tiny Footsteps of Faith (Pequeños Pasos de Fe), a four-volume through-the-Bible curriculum for ages 4-6 that not only teaches wonderfully the fundamentals of faith at an early age but is chockful of activities, worksheets, crafts, learning experiences that can be replicated in virtually any culture, national church, and level of technology.
All four volumes have been completed in Dutch, two in English, and the first in Spanish, with capacity to translate to any other language requested. The new illustrations were created by well-known Dutch illustrator Michel de Boer known globally for illustrating children’s picture books like the Old Woody series and Uncle Walt’s Christmas Box. He attends a BCM-affiliated church in the Netherlands, and it was a great honor to have him take on this project.

As a BCM publications delegation to Littworld, we are excited to be rolling out the new curriculum in three languages along with other projects and presentations. BCM Peru director Jonatan and Shantal Odicio will also be teaching a workshop on creative children’s ministry publication, and I will be teaching a track on writing the non-fiction memoir/heroes of faith title. A top priority for Jeanette after Littworld will be translating the remaining three volumes and accompanying material into Spanish.
- Please pray with us that God would provide the visa still needed by BCM Peru team member and computer/graphic design artist Ricardo Grandez.
- Please pray with us as we prepare both publications and workshop presentations.
- Please pray for safe arrival of all five BCM team members flying from various countries to Mexico City.
